Neurological Examination of the Leg 1: Patient introduction

General Considerations:

  • Introduce yourself and ask for permission to examine the legs.
  • Ask patient if they have any pain.
  • Expose patient adequately, preserving dignity.
  • Note the posture at rest.
  • Inspect for involuntary movements and muscle fasciculation.
  • Inspect for muscle symmetry and wasting.
