Examination of the Arm 2:
Muscle tone
With
patient relaxed:
- Flex and extend the patient's
fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders.
- Pronate and supinate the forearm.
- Remind patient to relax, and
shake hands with the patient, using random movements.
- Observe for decreased (flaccid)
or increased (spastic) tone.
